StrikeCheck 2025 Annual Claims Report

Two-thirds of reported perils for claimed electronics were recategorized after objective expert assessment, demonstrating how often claim decisions may be based on unverified causes of loss.

The StrikeCheck 2025 Annual Claims Report provides an overview of claims data across more than 400 item types and nearly 6,000 brands assessed last year. These national trends highlight where claims resolutions may lead to indemnity leakage when settled for non-covered perils or unnecessary replacements.

26% of evaluated equipment was functioning properly at the time of StrikeCheck’s assessment.

In addition to a comprehensive claims overview, the report breaks down frequently claimed electrically powered items, including:

  • Appliances
  • Consumer Electronics
  • Solar Power Equipment
  • Pool Equipment

Each section contains critical information, such as reported vs. actual cause of loss or repair vs. replace cost comparisons, that should be considered when making claim decisions.

At least 30% of evaluated dishwashers, dryers, refrigerators, and washers in appliance claims were functioning properly at the time of assessment.

Complete the form to access the report and review data on misreported causes of loss, potentially unnecessary replacements, and overall claim accuracy, all of which can contribute to indemnity leakage if the claims process doesn’t include an expert assessment. The report also includes lightning verification insights, demonstrating that lightning is not always present at the time of the loss, despite being the most frequently claimed peril.

75% of assessed solar chargers, inverters, and optimizers included in California wildfire claims were functioning properly or could be restored to pre-loss condition through repair.

This year’s report also includes assessment results from fire damage claims involving electrically powered items affected by the 2025 California wildfires. The data illustrates how often items are included in claims, particularly after CAT events, without being affected.

Receive the report to see how objective, expert validation can improve claims decision-making. Use the actionable insights on repair vs. replacement, lightning and surge damage, and cause of loss verification to enhance electronics claim settlement accuracy.
